Nynx stepped back a bit, seeing that the other's behavior was beginning to seem strange. Well, that explained his eyes, at least. He had a little trouble pulling the words to make sense in his mind. He had enough trouble understanding the way most rats spoke around here as it was, as Nynx had grown used to having a larger vocabulary than most. He nodded slowly, trying to at least reassure Emmet that he understood at least a few words of what he was saying. "Slight deviation, however shouldn't lag the progress to much extent." He spoke, ears flicking at the annoying sound of the collar. "Let's continue, then... through the... /maze/. Some of this appears familiar to me." The rodent tried again, figuring that he should use easier words in this situation. At least until Emmet had begun to overcome whatever it was that was making him act such way. Nynx knew little about the drugs that whitecoats fed to the rats, but had enough knowledge to know that it could make them do strange things.

He nodded and stood up staggering to the left then straightened up gaining up all his self control to correct himself, "Yes, okay.. So Ninsss, how wheel do you know this mass?" ("how well do you know this maze?") at least it sounded better than before Emmet thought. He looked up at the ceiling into the face of a whitecoat gazing over the two of them and it made Emmet feel uncomfortable being watched like that. "journey through the mass to find an exeet. Are you in, or are yuu in?" Emmet asked spinning around looking at Nynx with glazed over eyes still.

Nynx was hesitant at responding, for a moment not understanding the question completely. "I'm not too... Confident. But I've run this contraption before." He replied, once again struggling with words. Nynx nodded to the other rat, then scampered past him to the next turn, remaining slow to make sure that they didn't loose eachother, and incase of the other rats here, who he assumed weren't nearly as friendly.

Emmet followed behind Nynx going at slow pace gazing up and down the walls.
"Wheel better than how I now it." (well better than how I know it)
He saw small openings here and there but didn't tempt to walk through them worried he might lose Nynx after they just found each other.
(wurgh short post, in school right now againn //flips table//)

(Ahhh I know the feeling XD. I only have a 6 minute passing time to get to my next class, so I try to type out responses and such throughout them.)
Nynx finally glanced up, narrowing his eyes to stare straight ahead. "It's odd how we haven't encountered any other rats here." He spoke, at a slightly more fluent tone this time. Then the black-and-white rat glared up at the large face of a whitecoat, mentally shaking his head in disgust at the figure as he walked. Nynx didn't have much time left as read on the collar. Not that he would be able to read the numbers, but he knew that when the beeping grew to a faster pace, that time was about to run out. And from what Nynx could tell, it was nothing good.

(oh gosh same here xD only mine's five minutes heh. But today I ended up staying home pfft. Oversleeping is a bad thing.)

Emmet felt his mind become more clear as he was listening to Nynx's beeping collar then he heard Nynx comment on not running into other rats, "Maybe it's just us Nynx." Emmet said feeling happy he can speak normally again. But he could feel the drug effect slipping away giving him chills up his spine, "oh, hell, I hate the tests I'm given. Drugging me then seeing if I can get through a maze like that. Cruel thing I say." Emmet said more to himself than to Nynx.

Nynx repeated the statement in his mind, walking a bit slower now. "Perhaps it is..." He spoke, still not quite sure about that. Nynx had never run a maze alone, there were always other rats within it, whether he wanted them to be there or not. "Whitecoats care little of what their subjects endure during the time of a test." His tone was plain, really loosing all hatred towards the fleshy creatures that constantly wore the white fabric around them. He had grown so used to them, that he had begun accepting it as a part of life. In Nynx's mind, humans were cruel and sadistic, that was all there was to it.

Emmet thought about what Nynx said, "yeah.... I suppose that is true." he said still walking behind Nynx. His heart felt like it was going really fast like usual when he was overcoming the drugs and he was hungering for another tablet. "don't give in to the need...." Emmet muttered lowly as he started to shake but didn't want Nynx to be concerned for him, 'right now we gotta find the way out or the end of this maze' Emmet thought looking everywhere for an exit eager to get another drug tablet for an award.
(the whitecoats reward Emmet with more drugs xD)

Lewis was stumbling through a distant haze of a maze, the world tilting and rotating around him as a result of a rather unfortunate drug over-dose. He rounded a corner, confused, delirious, bleakly convinced that he was going the right direction. (although the path was obviously and visually a dead end)
He paused, looking left and right at both walls, and decided to turn right. The disorientated lab rat collided with the white surface and then the floor did a very odd thing;
It lifted out from under his feet and hit him over the head.
Lewis spiraled into the tilting grey of unconsciousness.

Emmet jolted at the sudden contact of another rat out of nowhere and instead of staying around to introduce himself he ran away from the female rat and Nynx, turning a couple of corners and tripped over an unconscious rat. "Wha- ow! What did I trip over?!" Emmet asked frantically glancing behind himself to see a recognisable rat. But not that recognisable due to the drug tablet blurring every inch of what came into view. Including the fact Emmet didn't even know he was heading into a dead end.

Lewis muttered something vague and rolled over, his eyes meeting some eat he found distantly familiar.
Suddenly he jumped up, drug-induced delusions filling his mind and triggered hallucinations of heavenly light, and he said, "The chosen one! The chosen one is here, I am blessed by his contact!"
Forcing himself towards the other rat, he said frantically, "Take me to the music, Chosen! Take us all to the music!"

"I don't think I'm the Chosen one and can take everyone to the music, but okay!" Emmet shouted back at the rat who still seemed greatly familiar. He coughed roughly shaking off the blurring of his vision getting a clear look of the rat before him. "Wait-- Lewis...?" Emmet said rather unsure staring at the tan triangle mark on the albino's nose that resembled Lewis' alot when Emmet last saw him.

His name, is familiar named leaked through his shield of delirium and smacked him into sense.

He blinked twice and refocused his eyes shakily, looking up at the other rat, whose distant familiarity suddenly clicked into place.
Lewis's stomach plummeted.
"Emmet?..." He approached catiously, tilting his head. "It IS you! Do you have any idea what's... what's... going on..."
Another wave of dizziness swept him off of his feet.
