(Woop! It's been a while sorry y'all. I went to the eye doctor, so I can read some smaller print now! And I got some new rats so let's get this party started!)
It had started out as the usual. A whitecoat came and picked Tobias out of his cage and carried him into the test room. Nothing big, it happened every day. And sure, he hated it, but at least it wasn't like the hell he was in now.
The whitecoats had set him in a cage large enough to hold several rats; which was odd because usually they'd bring him to a table, forcefeed him a pill, and put him back in his cage. The whitecoats outside grumbled and they placed a few more rats in, and he looked at them to see if he could spot his friend Jasper. He wasn't there, which made him feel a little relieved. If whatever this new test was killed him, he didn't want to see Jasper die with him. He was about to approach one of the rats standing closest to him when a whitecoat set a small rubber tray in the center of the cage.
The floor started to hum, and he felt sharp zaps being sent through his body. The floor was shocking him with electric currents, and he realized in horror that the tiny tray in the center of the cage could only hold a few rats. Some rats would have to suffer the pain of the electricity while others would get to sit in the rubber tray, watching their fellow rats writhe in agony.

(I'm going to test out a new character!~ Let's get this site active again, shall we?)
[Noire] Noire squealed in panic as she suddenly felt strong currents of electricity shooting up her limbs. Scrabbling over to the rubber platform, she hopped desperately on, pushing her fellow rodents out of the way. Letting out a wail at the sight of the spasming bodies sprawled about her, she was suddenly rammed off the tray. Shrieking in twisted agony, Noir doubled over, vomiting on the floor of the cage.

Tobias scrambled onto the tray quickly and reached his paws out to grab other rats. His paw grasped a shrieking buck by his ear and Tobias tugged him onto the tray next to him. The buck quickly surged into the mass of rats piling up in the center. As he extended his paws toward another rat, he was shoved off and slammed onto the floor with a loud thunk. The electric currents swept through his body, and Tobias screamed for the pain to end. His pain sent him strength, and he pulled himself forward and rammed into another rat. Keep going, keep going. He crawled over the rat despite its screaming. Her screaming. He caught a glimpse of her face and swallowed the sorrow he felt for her. Keep going, keep going.(Thank you for replying! I'm sorry I haven't been on too much, I just finished my band contest so I have a lot more time on my hands and should be able to be back on here! )

[Noire] The doe writhed in agony, pulling herself back onto her feet. Attempting to pull herself back onto the rubber platform, she helplessly scrabbled at the edge. Noire's dark eyes searching the crowd for help, she released a pained wail.

Tobias reached the platform and sighed in relief. He scanned the surrounding area, and he observed that most of the rats had given up and lay writhing on the shocking floor. Tobias' gaze froze on a doe who was barely holding onto the edge of the tray. He quickly scrambled over to her and grasped her paws. Tobias wheezed loudly as he heaved her up beside him. His muscles still burned from the electric pulses he had recently escaped.

[Noire] "Th-thank you-" Noire gasped, digging her small nails into the surface of the tray. Her body being crushed under the weight of the surrounding rodents, the doe took giant breaths, trying not to throw anyone off.

"No problem," Tobias mumbled quietly and shifted under the weight. His gaze fell upon the doe struggling next to him. She had no fur, but her skin was an alluring shade of ebony. Her whiskers were short, and her gaze was strong. She was gorgeous and he was fascinated. Tobias needed to know more about her. "Are you hurt?"

[Noire] "I'm quite alright, but I appreciate your concern." Noire said quietly, looking up. Twitching her whiskers, the doe swiveled her ears slightly forward, trying to hold her head level as the rats squirmed above her. "Do I know you from somewhere? You seem vaguely familiar."

"I'm tested for pain relievers. Maybe you've seen me there?" Tobias suggested. Suddenly, the buzzing ceased and all the lights flashed out. Rats around him screeched in surprise and he was pushed onto the floor. Tobias prepared himself for the burning pain, but when he landed he felt no pain. The electricity had gone out and they were trapped in this prison.

[Noire] Stiffling a gasp as darkness engulfed the pen, Noire hesitantly hopped down from the platform. Wincing as her paws hit the still-warm floor, the doe blindly wandered through the pitch-blackness, hitting into the buck. "M-my apologies.. electroshock therapy. I'm not sure why, then, I feel I know you." she said, taking a small step back.

Tobias shuffled back to his paws and pricked his ears. "Maybe my name will help. I'm Tobias." He said and looked around in the darkness. His eyes began to adjust to the inky blackness, he could see the silhouettes of all the other rats in the cage. There were several unmoving rats laying on the floor of the cage.

[Noire] "Ah.. hello, Tobias. You may refer to me as Noire. Unfortunately, your name didn't trigger any memories. Perhaps I'm just familiar with your breed." Noire squeaked, tilting her head. Her own eyes dancing from one figure to the next, the doe lowered her head uncomfortably, the darkness only providing a smidge of tranquillity.

"Well Noire, how about we see if anyone needs help up?" Tobias suggested and started walking towards one of the unmoving lumps on the floor. He glanced behind him at Noire, and he hoped she would follow.

[Noire] "That seems like the best thing to do in this situation." Noire murmured, slowly making her way toward him. Spotting what looked to be a traditional white lab rat on the tank floor, she hurried over, placing her hand on it's side. It was un-moving, but still warm. Chirping in horror, she backed away, lowering her head. "How many didn't survive?"

"Too many." Tobias murmured as he surveyed the area. Several rats lay dead on the floor of the cage, but he saw a few stirring into consciousness. He approached one doe and helped her up. She quickly hurried over to the rubber tray which many rats still sat upon and took a seat on it.
