Ah people do blow things out of proportion Or rather religious extremist do. I really don’t see the problem with same sex marriages, two people love each either enough to commit for life? Then they should be allowed to get married. However I am not religious so thinking outside the box I can see their point after it is a religious act , a man and a woman getting married usually means they are part of the Christian or catholic religion O i can see why they don’t like the idea of their meaning of marriage being changed. Though personally I don’t see the big deal with marriage seems like a waste of money to me , both my parents are still together and they were never married, where as my cousins just got married and it did seem just like a way of getting in debt. I actually don't want to get officially married either... I just don't see, you know, the use in it. I'm also not very religious, so that stuff doesn't affect me. POLITICS ARE A BIG LOAD OF POOP.

I'm not sure about Europe, flighty, but here in America there are lots of benefits to getting married. It's not a religious concept here anymore. A Site with BenefitsOh really? Where do you live? Does this apply to USA? I live in USA.

That is so ridiculous that I had to read over it twice. Just... wow... I mean, who cares who marries what person? It's none of their business! ._.

Well i live in the UK , we aren’t actually apart of Europe , at least not really that’s why we still have our own currency, but I can say so far at least from my parents point of view it has been more beneficial to not get married but then I don’t know about overseas much or about politics or anything concerned, But I do think that people should only get married if they love each other and not for the financial benefit. I mean marriage just seems like a way to get it written on paper for me , though I do think if same sex couples really want to get married there should be somewhere they can go for it because we should all support happiness and love right?

...I knew that. Totally. lol I agree about being in love and such and that should be a defining factor in marriage. But the benefits of marriage are being denied and they don't even have the choice.

Personally, I think everyone who says it goes against 'gods law' is a bit...off? If 'God' really didn't want people to be bisexual, gay, or anything else, he wouldn't have made peoples minds able to do so.
I fully support Same Sex Marriage.

Exactly. Anyways, if I remember correctly, a human wrote the bible, not God/Jesus himself... So... How do you know that EVERYTHING is PERFECTLY true, you know? All in a game of telephone. Not saying it's not, but really, who knows?

Being a lesbian I think I should put in my two cents, First of all I'm not Christian or Catholic, kinda the opposite.. however I bare no grudge against anyone who is.
I've noticed that most of the time Same Sex marriage is illegal because of Religion, and sadly that religion is Christianity or any of it's branches. Now let me take you back a couple of centuries, around the Roman Empire and the Greeks same sex couples were seen as a sacred union, Romans even had Sex temples where an individual would just go in and chose some one to have intercourse with in the name of their Gods or Godesses. So you see same sex couples or same sex intercourse was not only sacred but seen as a normal part of their community. Yet this all changed around AD 30 (it might be a little off) when Christianity was first brought into the picture, to put it simply they wanted to be different and attacked the first group of people they found shouldn't be in their society. So know you know a bit of the back story it might help us with the debating.
It's true that being married as a lot of great benifites and yes it has it's bad points, but when it comes down to your love being in hospital and you're not aloud to have a say in what happens it's ridiculous. Or when you want to buy a house but they won't sell to you because it only has one bedroom...
