What's this? Adoptable characters? Jasmine, what are you doing? Well, yeah, I'm doing that. Eheh.
So at the moment, I only have two available, but I have more rats in the making! They're all free, too! It's first-come, first-serve, by the way.
RULES:
1) You can only get one, so choose carefully!
2) Do not kill them off within one month.
3) Try to stay true to the descriptions I've set out. You can add on to them, but don't take your character and completely alter their personality.
4) If you are inactive without notice for more than two months, I will take the character back and put it back up for adoption. Only without notice, though, so if you say you're going on a hiatus beforehand, your character is safe.
5) Not quite a rule, but hey, keep me posted on how they're doing if you adopt one! I'd love to know what threads they're in so I can see how they're doing too!
This post will be updated with more characters as time goes on. Adopted characters will be crossed out.
Ronan [Subject 89FE]
Appearance: Dark gray, with even darker gray ears, paws, and tail, lighter gray streak down snout. Deep black eyes, scarless. Stitches on his head where surgery was performed for testing purposes. (see "Experimented On")
Gender: Male
Known Relations: Brother of Jasmine (but neither remember so)
Experimented On: Microchips, like his sister. Has a microchip implanted in his brain, though his does not act up as often. Loses all control over his body during and only during testing sessions, when whitecoats experiment with their controls and such.
History and Personality: Ronan was born in the lab with several other rats, but was separated from his littermates at a very early age. He started testing as soon as he matured.
He is slightly untrusting, but warms up to others rather quickly, as long as they act friendly to him. Once he begins to trust someone, he is cheery and bright. He can be a welcome, often needed breath of fresh optimism. He is also quite restless—some part of him is always moving, be it a lashing tail, twitching whiskers, or pacing paws, going around in excited circles.
Ronan does not particularly hate the whitecoats. Sure, he does kind of get a hard time with the whole microchip deal, but it's not that bad, he says. What's the worst they do?
Obviously, he hasn't seen the real horror in the cages around him everyday. Maybe if he did, he'd think differently.
ADOPTED BY RedenedMistake
Yeolch [Subject 61AN]
Appearance: Auburn brown, black eyes, pink paws and tail. Various small burned patches. (See "Experimented On")
Gender: Male
Known Relations: None (for now, this may change)
Experimented On: Fire-resistant lotions. He has several hairless patches where the product being tested on him failed, allowing flame to burn his fur off, sometimes never growing back. The testing process is as such: the lotion is applied, and he is held over or by a flame which slowly intensifies, until the whitecoats are satisfied.
History and Personality: Yeolch was sent from a pet store to the lab two weeks after he was first "made available to the public" (for lack of a better phrase). Whether or not any of his siblings were also sent, he has no idea. He began testing almost immediately, and because of his frequent meetings with fire, he no longer fears the element and is quite comfortable with heat.
He is hyperactive and almost annoyingly perpetually happy. Others might call him a "happy virus"—he tries to make everyone around him happy too, and often succeeds in doing so. He laughs often and wants others to too, always cracking jokes and pulling little pranks when he can. This can be slightly obnoxious to some, especially since he's not so good at sensing the mood.
But Yeolch knows what the whitecoats do. He knows the experiments so much worse than his, though he likes to joke that his is absolutely horrendous. ("I mean, come on, why'd they risk burning off this beautiful fur, huh?") He knows that some of his fellow lab creatures go through terrible pain at the hands of the whitecoats, and many have lost all hope. It's why he tries to be a "happy virus". He wants to cheer everyone up.
His stance on whitecoats is, however, one of dislike but not hate. He doesn't like that they do what they do, but he's sure they have a reason, and maybe they can somehow tell them that they, the lab creatures, don't like it at all. At least, he hopes.

So there's these two! Man, I'm getting attached to them, I almost don't want to let them go. But I will. If you'd like to adopt one of them, leave a reply!
Also what do you mean Yeolch is based off of Park Chanyeol I don't know what you're talking about ok yes he is Yeolch is based off of Park Chanyeol sorry not sorry
Tao [Subject 68HU]
Appearance: Lean. Very light, pale brown, with a tinge of yellow. Scar across snout and torn right ear. Slanted, dark eyes.
Gender: Male
Known Relations: Original of Zitao (see "Experimented On")
Experimented On: Cloning. (See Zitao) After he was successfully cloned, he began testing in mazes. The mazes have become more and more elaborate over time, however, and more and more dangerous as well.
History and Personality: Tao was originally a forest rat, but was caught and taken into the lab. He remembers little of the outside world, but enough to miss it dearly. Amazingly, the attempt to clone him was successful on the first try, resulting in Subject 68HU-A, Zitao. He then began to be put in mazes, sometimes competing with other rats to get to the end first. Sometimes these encounter have been violent, resulting in the scars he has now.
Though he seems fierce and cold, he is really quite childish. He is easily startled, jumpy, and can be kind of immature at times. He does not like to fight, but will if pushed and is a formidable foe. He is quick on his feet and nimble. It is actually relatively easy to upset him, and he often needs someone to comfort him when he does get upset. However, depending on the situation, he can become cold and distant, especially in dangerous circumstances.
Tao is simply irritated with the whitecoats. The fact that they took him from a life of freedom in the forest annoys him. It's never crossed his mind that maybe the whitecoats deserve worse than a glare at their backs, or a contemptuous flick of a tail. He's seen some pretty bad results of tests on others, but feels like it's really not the whitecoats' fault—just bad luck.
He's still rather innocent. He's quite young, and has yet to really see the extent of the whitecoats' experiments. Who knows how he'll change when he does.
ADOPTED BY Jasmine (that's me!)
Zitao [Subject 68HU-A]
Appearance: Very similar to Tao, but with a more reddish tinge than yellow. Scar down right flank and nicked left ear. Narrow, slanted eyes.
Gender: Male
Known Relations: Clone of Tao (see "Experimented On")
Experimented On: Cloning. Was put into mazes soon after his "creation", like his original. Often put into the same ones at the same time as Tao to see if the clone's intelligence is any worse than the original's. When one of them reaches the exit, both are removed from the maze.
History and Personality: Zitao was cloned from Tao, and quickly grew close to his original. Tao named him, actually. ("So I'm Tao. You're kind of... Tao-Two. Tao-Z. Or... Taozi. Taozi, Tao—Zitao! That's good! You can be Zitao!") He is often put in the same mazes as Tao, but they don't always run into each other. His intelligence is just as good as any other rat's, so he finds the whitecoats' constant testing of his intelligence silly.
He is everything Tao looks like—cold, somewhat scornful, and disdainful, with a light in his eyes that is enough to make even a rat who knows who he's really like uneasy. Tao is one of the only creatures he opens up to. When he does, he acts like the young, immature, parentless rat he is, small and quivering, afraid of the world. The facade he has is to shield himself, he's said many times to Tao. ("Don't give me that look, Tao, you know what I mean. If others are scared of me, they won't get close enough for me to be scared of them, right?")
He is agile, a fierce fighter, and a little quicker to resort to violence than his original, but he won't go far as to seek out a fight. His scars are results of scuffles in mazes where the first rat out is rewarded with more food and treats.
Whitecoats are something he's afraid of. He calls it a bit of a phobia, as like Tao, he doesn't know the full extent of the whitecoats' cruelty. What he'll do when he finally sees it won't be good—for him or the others around him, only time and fate will tell.

Ok yeah I know all I've posted so far are males but
1. I've got some nice females on the way
2. These characters sort of shape themselves as I go, and they keep ending up male idek it just happens
Also aha ha h ah a what do you mean Huang Zitao
STOP BASING YOUR CHARACTERS OFF OF HUMANS, JASMINE STOP
Rain [Subject 56GB]
Appearance: Natural coloring is light gray speckled with white. Fur color changes hourly to red speckled with orange, then orange and yellow, yellow and green, green and blue, then back to normal. (See Experimented On) Slightly smaller than average. Black eyes.
Gender: Female
Known Relations: None
Experimented On: Color changing hair dye. It is rather irritating, causing her to scratch often, which has left her skin scarred, she will occasionally accidentally break skin from scratching too much. The dye is reapplied every two weeks.
History and Personality: Rain was born in the lab, and has never seen anything but it. She wishes she could see the outside world. She was separated from her family and began testing at an early age.
The whitecoats never really bothered her with tests particularly ("Well, yes, the dye does lead to some scratching and bleeding and all, but really, it could be worse"), but how they handle her, how they handle others, what they do to others, that's what makes her hate them, and with a passion. Thus, she sided with Blank when the conflict began.
Despite that, Rain is a kind creature, always with a caring smile and a pleasant laugh. She truly cares deeply for the other test subjects, and helps them whenever she can. She is gentle and somewhat quiet but not fearful—she will defend herself and her peers from harm fiercely, like a mother. (Unless it's whitecoats. She is no fool; she knows better than to try to fight them.) She is a likeable rat, but sometimes, very rarely, she'll go off on one of her rages about how terrible whitecoats are, and how they need to be punished. But this happens on very rare occasions, and only when prompted, so she seems to some a stable, warm light among a sea of madness and death. And most of the time, she is.
