Still Alive (( OPEN ))

Zepher grinned brightly. "Hey, alright! Thanks!!" be said cheerfully, all too trusting of the rats he had only just met. He stepped closer to them to get a better look at them, even though he couldn't see much. One was a doe, darker fur most likely gray from what he could make out. The buck was a much lighter color than her.

[Jasmine]

"How can you be sure you know which way to go?" Jasmine asked, doubtful. "The whitecoats could have changed the maze up. They probably did." She glanced at Zepher and scoffed. "You're going to get killed someday, you know," she said. "Because of your... trusting tendencies."

He tilted his head curiously. "Trusting..?" her echoes softly, his expression serious and his eyes looking blankly at her. "Well, it's not so often i find others willing to help me. When I do, i'll take it whether i get killed or not... even if it's just to have some company before it gets me killed..." he said this softly, feeling his fur grow warmer. "I don't think i'd mind it if i died... i mean, i'd like to live, maybe one day i'll get out of here. Maybe i'll meet a nice doe even... but if i'm gonna die i don't want it to be because i was too afraid to seek out others... i don't want to die alone." he finished his little speech quickly, turning his hazy gaze down to his paws, realizing he had rambled a bit. It surely had been a long time, though, since he had had a decent conversation with another.
"I don't know what i did but i didn't mean to make you hate me already" he said with a sudden bright smile. "i wanna help you two get out just as much as i want out!" with that he looked at the third rat expectantly.

(I'm probably going to be on the computer less often... I'm obviously not secretly using one in the wee hours of the night. Obviously.)
Cyrpix chuckled. "We all want to leave. It's just that we can't. And, even if they did change up this course, then we'll still leave this maze - but only a bit more delayed. I'm reluctant on taking sides in this conversation, but... I think Zepher's right. I think it's better to cooperate than isolate."

[Jasmine]

Jasmine nodded silently, face blank, as Zepher spoke. Her eyes narrowed, though, at his last words. "I don't hate you," she said rather haltingly, looking awkward. "I'm just - um-" She broke off, her eyes sliding sideways, avoiding his veined ones. She turned instead to Cyrpix. "Oh, I'm not saying we should split up, but I'm not relying entirely on you, that's for sure." She looked almost flustered, with both of the other rats seeming to oppose her. "Say..." Peering carefully at the other two's eyes, she frowned and said, "Are you two blind? You, Cyrpix, I'd guess so. You, uh, Zepher? Blind, or...?"

Zepher smiled brightly when she said she didn't hate him "oh! well that's a relief!" and he said it sincerely. "I'm not exactly blind, things are just really really fuzzy, and i don't see any color... I'm not blind, but not the best sight either!" he said this brightly, as if it didn't matter one way or another. He remembered having perfect sight and will admit he misses it, but at least he could make out what was going on.

[Kalcys]

"So, um... now that that's settled, let's keep moving..." asserted Cyrpix as he began scampering through the maze, constantly going click, click, click.

[Jasmine]

Jasmine contemplated Zepher's statement for a moment, then nodded, satisfied with the answer. "Whitecoats' fault, I assume?" she asked as she scurried after Cyrpix. Turning to watch where she was going (it'd be embarrassing if the one rat with fully functional sight here tripped or crashed into a wall or something), she once again noted Cyrpix's clicking. "That thing you do," she called. "It reminds me of someone I met a while back - a bat, I remember." She caught up with Cyrpix and gave him a curious glance she knew he wouldn't see. "You get around doing that or something?"

He laughed a bit and smiled "Yeah, slipped and got some chemical stuff in my eye, but it was an accident!" He followed along the best he could, he was slower than the other two, and kept pausing to make sure he wouldnt run into anything.

[Kalcys]

(( What are you talking about, C- I mean, Jasmine? I was being sarcastic. ))
"Didn't I already tell you about it?" Cyrpix answered. "Hey - is it just me, or does this part of the course seem familiar to you?" He observed his surroundings, confident that the section was exactly the same as the one they had passed minutes ago. "I'm pretty sure that we're not going in circles..." Cyrpix couldn't tell if it was just a coincidence or not that this place felt the same as before.

[Jasmine]

(( yeah yeah KE-I mean Kalcys. [wavy arm gestures] I know sarcasm when I hear it did you know ))

"Right. Accident." Jasmine rolled eyes in contempt. "'Course it's all fine, the whitecoats making you almost blind, it was just an accident." Turning her attention to Kalcys, she blinked and thought for a moment. "Did you? Guess I missed it." She flinched suddenly, cursing under her breath as a painful shock ran through her body. Not now, not now, why now? She halted and brought a paw to her head in a vain attempt to stop the twitching of the microchip in her head, swallowing heavily. "Sorry, sorry, don't worry about me, I..." Her words trailed off. A pleasant, calm feeling washed over her. "I'm alright." The twitching subsided, leaving Jasmine feeling much more kind then she usually was. "Sorry. Should we go on? I don't think we've been going in circles."

(( aaaand personality twitch, as I like to call it. microchip acts up sometimes, messes with her head. she'll go back to good old normal grumpy jasmine in a bit, so this nice jasmine won't last very long. ))

Zepher's eyes darted around. "Hmm i'm not really sure!" she said before jumping when Jasmine began cursing and hit her head with her own paw. "Hey!! are you alright?!" he asked, his face filled with no emotion except for utter concern for the doe he just met, ignoring her almost cruel sarcasm about the whitecoats. Even after she began talking again he didn't stop staring at her, worried.

((Ah yes, the sound of sarcasm. It only applies to people when they were talking... I didn't utter a word when you asked me those questions.))
"Wha- Who's that?" The new voice Cyrpix heard sounded similar to Jasmine, but kinder and more trusting. He believed that Jasmine's words trailed off when a different voice appeared out of the blue.

Jasmine waved Zepher away with a smile. "I'm fine, trust me." She cast a rather confused look at Cyrpix. "It's still me," she said. "Just me." She shook herself and continued forward, nose in the air. "Do you smell that? The air's... different." An excited look crept onto her face. "Do you think we're near the exit?" There was a tickling in the back of her head. No, it was telling her. Nowhere near. But still she smiled, barely registering the feeling. "Let's go, let's go!"

Echo was led into a strange room and saw other rats there. She shuddered as she saw a maze with three rats heading towards a trap that she could see from above. Before she was thrown into the maze, she screamed, "Watch out!" and then was tossed in with great force and Echo thought the human had broken her robotic leg, so she tested it, but nothing seemed out of place.


Echo ran through the path that she saw from above, but even though she is 11 months old, (10 years in rat) she still had a pretty good memory. She got to the begining of the path that the other rats were on and she screamed, "There's a trap!"
