Slippy could barely see out of the glistening glass of his new cage. He kept putting his pinkish paws against the slippery surface, peering close until his nose banged against the glass; However, not once had he been able to see past the fifth tile on the floor, so he'd eventually given up. He could hear the noises of other creatures; Rats, cats, dogs, and other rodents like himself. Was that a weasel he heard? Ew! He sighed and stared at the glaring glass again. The reason he was mostly blind was because of two things: One, it was dark in the facility. All of the workers had gone home. Two, the little sunlight left glared against his cage and made a large whitish splotch in the glass, creating a barrier. He wished he could see around it, but there was no hope of that. A rat couldn't do much about the positioning of his cage. However, Slippy was totally unaware of his position, here. He had been a wild rat for a while, living in a massive group in an old restaurant. He'd lived quite a life there as a young rat, with his Ma and his littermates always beside him. He remembered those days with great wondering. When he'd been stolen from his home by the Killer, he'd been brought to some strange bright place with a lot of other animals not present in the lab. After that he'd been kidnapped again by some strange human with bright yellow hair, and she took fair care of him; Giving him good food, keeping him safe from Cats and Dogs, and most importantly keeping him hidden from view. However, he'd had a large cage then, with two separate floors for him to explore, and she always changed something- It was something to look forward to. Then, the girl didn't come back. He knew she wasn't very old (humans live for a very long time), as she was much smaller than her parent; However, it hit him at one point that the girl might have died. He wasn't so sure then, and he wasn't exactly positive he always would be. But no matter. He'd been sold here not very long ago- A week, perhaps- and had been poked and prodded constantly for that full week of Quarentine; He'd been told by some old rat that it was to make sure no rat had a disease that could easily spread from rat to rat, or from creature to creature. He was rather offended by this. And now, here he was, out of Quarintene, and already off to a rough start. He could barely see scat; And he was, for the most part, alone. Through the glass he could see other rats, one on either side; And he could hear their squeaking. After a moment of guesswork, he chose the left side of his cage. Scurrying off, he put his pinky paws on the glass and gently tapped the impenetrable wall with his claws. "Hello?" He squeaked, before squatting back on his haunches and awaiting an answer.

((wow! great post! glad to see some detailed RP posts seems like a lot of people only do one to two sentences)) Luna slowly awakened from her slumber, her eye heavy and slitted shut. She stretched her legs out one by one and peered to her right. She spotted a buck, new by the looks of it. She watched silently as he tried to stare out into the room, but she saw he was unable to. She felt a pang of sympathy, remembering her own first days. Though, she had been in horrible pain. The fire had nearly killed her, and every day was just another hell filled with needles and skin drafts, medicines that worked half the time and left her with horrid side effects, and the sad stares she got from others. When she had finally been let alone in a cage, and had seen her reflection for the first time, the once shockingly beautiful doe had hidden. She had hardly eaten, cleaned, nor spoke for almost a month. She was so afraid of everything, but she had finally gotten through it and accepted it. She now considers herself a sort of life for many rats. She was able to empathize with the others, and cared for many of the youngsters that pained her so much to see here. Luna waited patiently, giving her remaining silk gray fur a few licks to fix it up. She knew the buck would try to talk to someone, and she planned to speak to him when he wanted. It was never good to rush new rats into communicating, some don't take kindly to strangers. When he did speak she limped quickly closer to the edge where she could see him and smiled brightly, it lit up her remaining eye and it sparkled. "Hey there!" she spoke just loud enough for him to hear her, she knew others were asleep and sometimes got violent and crude if awoken. "My name is Luna~ Are you new here?" she spoke kindly and sweetly, almost as if singing to a small ratling.

((Uh. O3O I'm one of the people that only do a few sentences at a time. That one up there was just an introduction, y'feel? I don't do detailed ones so I don't get too ahead of myself or the other player.))
"Yeah, I just got here a few days ago." He said to the doe, twitching the end of his tail ever so slightly before curling it loosely around himself. "My name's Slippy. What's your name?" He asked, seeming to take no notice of the things that the humans had done to her; However, he had indeed noticed them, he just chose not to point them out. His mother always told him to keep to himself and never point out another rat's flaws, so he did just that. He ignored the physical flaws; And it seemed to have worked pretty well, considering how many friends he'd made in the past.

"I'm Luna~" she said softly and smiled even more. He seemed nice enough. She sat down and settled herself a bit more, using her tail to make up fr the balance lost when she lost her arm. "Where were you before here?" she asked tentatively, not wanting to intrude on some personal information. Sure, many rats ask it as casually as you'd ask about the weather or your day, but she preferred to at least be polite about it. She twitched her ear as a whitecoat went by and picked up a cage to the other side of her. Hopefully they wouldn't decide to intrude on this conversation, but she was pretty sure she was done with testing for the day, and as if thinking about it signalled it she felt a pang in her shoulder and winced slightly.

"Well, I used to be a wild rat. I lived in an old abandoned place." He squeaked. "Then a bunch of Killers came in and stole me and my colony, or they killed them- Depended on the luck. Then this human owned me for a bit, and after that I think the human died. So then I was sent here." He said.

she tilted her head a bit. "Killers? Like the whitecoats?" she became more and more curious. What other killers were there? Were they the ones that set fire to her home and was the reason for her scars and pain? There was no resentment in the though, what had happened to her had happened and hating them did nothing to fix it. She was simply curious that's all.

"Not exactly." He said. "They wear black coats, and they give us these little bowls of something. They smell irresistible, like food, so naturally any rat would readily go towards it. But it's poisonous. It kills any rat that eats it. And if the fake-food doesn't do it, the Killer himself will. He'll set up little traps, and if you step on them they snap around your neck and either suffocate you or completely tear your head off. Those who are lucky enough to survive get taken away from their home and never come back, like me."

"That's horrible.." she said softly with a mixture of awe and horror. A small shudder went down her spine. "I remember these young ones came to where i lived, then had large things they threw in and set the place on fire." she said it casually, she had already thought about it a lot and it didn't bother her much now.
(sorry for the crappy psot, i visiting my mom and i most likely wont be on til teusday)

He sighed. "Yeah. My mother fell for the trick... She was going to have a litter of Ratlings." He sighed softly. "What happened to your home is horrible too." He said quietly, just loud enough to hear over the glass. He tapped the tip of his tail upon the glass; If they had been in the same cages, he would have touched tails with her in a comfort-gesture his family had conjured up. "Well, it's almost morning... Better get some rest..." He sighed.

She looked at him, her large blue eyes swimming with sympathy. "I truly am sorry.." she murmured then smiled softly at him. "You're one of the kindest rats i've met here, so many in your place would have already turned on everyone else, shelter themself away from feelings... I hope you stay that way. Don't let the whitecoats hurt that part of you." she said warmly and full of heart. She felt she had truly made a friend today.

He smiled softly. "Let's sleep right here tonight. It's as close to curling up together as we'll ever get... Maybe our heat will travel through the glass." He said.

She smiled and settled herself against the edge of the glass, leaning against her good shoulder. "that sounds lovely." she said in almost a whisper. For once she didn't have anything to say, not that she was a talkative rat really but was hardly ever at a loss, her silence was usually chosen. Yet now she rested her voice and just enjoyed the moment while it lasted, this rare moment.

Slippy collapsed on the glass next to her, yawning quietly and curling his tail around him. He said, "Good night..." Just loud enough to hear before completely zonking out and curling up, nose beneath a forepaw, snoring in little squeaks.
((I SHIP SLIPPY X LUNA. I AIN'T ASHAMED.))

(oh my gosh I do too hahaha) Luna closed her eyes and soon dozed off. Her breathing was slow and clam and her face relaxed and perfectly content. Her dreams were sweet and for the first time in a long time not a single nightmare stole her rest. (would it be alright with you if I maybe drew something from this thread? I have a picture in mind x3 )

((Do it! I'd love to see it ^-^))
(("...was slow and CLAM..." I LOL'D))
He wished he could hear her breathing over the glass; Wished he could see the sunlight again.
All too quickly, his mind was interrupted by a light as a ray from the sun bit into his eyelids, making him wake up uncomfortably. Soon he realized that no, this was not Sunlight. It was fake light, white and glaring, and there were millions of them.. Now he could see his surroundings... And he didn't like it at all.
