(( i keep making characters why
i don'T KNOW I'M SORRY
and they're fandom trash too what is my life ))
Max [Subject 18SC]
Appearance: Dark brown fur and eyes, pink, large ears and pink paws and tail. Slightly larger than average.
Gender: Male
Known Relations: Close friends with Yun
Experimented On: The question was: could living beings be controlled like machines? How?
So the experiments followed. Injections of tranquilizers encased in thin gold shells that would break up when certain beams were activated were the first tests. Then came the surgery, and the microchip - it was always the microchip. The thing was more advanced than the prototype other rats had gotten - there were no electrical twitches as side effects. But it was much, much more effective. With a push of a button, Max would go out like a light, and with another, he'd be awake again. After the surgery? Max's only disturbance is the weekly check to make sure the microchip is functioning. But every once in a while, other tests happen. The curiousity ones; arguably some of the worst ones.
History: Max was born in the lab, raised in the lab, and has almost known nothing but the lab.
Almost, but not completely, because of four other bucks who did know the outside. One had been from a pet store. Two had been brought from the forest. And one, the only one who stayed, had escaped the lab, before coming back of his own will.
These four taught Max everything he knows now about the world beyond the lab. They had been like brothers... and then they were gone. Three of them made an escape attempt; Max never knew if they made it out or not. The fourth rat, the determined buck with the brown-ish black fur and serious eyes named Yun, remained.
Soon after the three's departure, the true tests began. And this time, Max and Yun suffered together.
Personality: Max is self-conscious and wary of how others see him, but at the same time borderline-naive. He tends to be childish and trusting (on a more temporary basis - it takes much more to gain his longterm faith), until crisis strikes. When things become dangerous, he's serious and quick-thinking, ready to try his best to think of a way out of a bad situation. He works best with Yun; they work off each other, lean on each other (both metaphorically and literally), and understand each other.
He's rather shy in the holding room, keeping an eye out for Yun, but lately, he's been having to open up more, if only so he doesn't go mad from loneliness.
Affiliation: Blank
Max feels like he needs to know what happened to the three bucks who had tried to escape. He feels like the only way he can find out is to get out himself, but he knows somewhere inside of himself that he couldn't escape on his own, not with the whitecoats still around like they are. So if he could clear the way, he thinks, he could find out.
Honestly, he's bitter, violently bitter. It was the whitecoats that drove the three to leave - if it hadn't been for them, they would still be five.
And maybe, deep in his heart, he knows what really happened, and it's not knowledge he wants, but revenge.
