"Feri,"The doe stated, marked ears perked up as she listened to Lewis. "Or what the Tall call me, 606."Feri's ear twitched involuntarily, as she was happy to finally have another cagemate ever since the whitecoats gave her the shot. LABRATT shrugged, still glaring at Doublo, as if she did something awful. The albino's fur bristled again, grinding her teeth. The rodent knew something was wrong; the way Doublo looked at them was insulting, if not rude and strange. The bi-colored rodent continued avoiding looking at the two. Doublo looked ahead, black eyes filled with uncertainty. She didn't want to be the one to tell them, in fear they would turn back. But she needed as many creatures as possible on this mission. Xarax seemed to smile, dipping her head."Thank you, Nynx. Your name is quite nice itself."

"Feri," Lewis said, rolling the name on his tongue and willing himself to remember it. There was a whitecoat approaching and he expected it to pick him up and return him to his cage, but it continued walking. Lewis scanned his mind for something intellectual to say, as idle chat had an unfortunate tendency to give him headaches. "Well, Feri, pleased to meet you. Now, I do believe that I will be removed from the vicinity in a fairly short amount of time, so I bid you farewell." He paused, and his ear flicked as he added, "Actually there is a slight chance you may be moved with me. I have not seen you here before, and I expect that they are using you as a part of my experiment. I could be wrong of course, but if that is the case then let me warn you, unusual newcomer" Again, there was no double phrasing in his words and he was proud of himself to a degree. "Distance yourself from me. The last one who got particularly close, well... As close as a friend could get, died. Monitoring my reaction to the death of a close 'friend', I suspect. Well, I doubt this will happen but if that is the case..." Lewis trailed off on a lighter note.

The hooded rat nodded,taking note of what he was saying. Feri wondered if it were true, if the whitecoats had done something and killed Lewis' friend.She shuddered at the thought of death, knowing how many times of had happened to her family. She wasn't afraid of that though-fear is stupid. It just slows us down, Feri thought.

Nynx continued staring at the dark hallway-like structure ahead, flicking an ear in the process. It couldn't be that Doublo was scared of it, was she? Mumbling something under his breath, the rodent glanced back at the crow with a look that questioned why the doe was still waiting. Not that he expected the crow to actually do anything or respond. Still, the stare that Doublo had given seemed rather uncertain, as if something had gone wrong. It made Nynx wonder if perhaps she was lying all along. He kept his mouth shut though, head lowered.

Xarax seemed to shrug, wings trembling as if she wanted to leave quickly.The crow's yellow eyes stared ahead, focusing on leaving. Doublo nodded and gulped."Ahead we go, then." The black-and-white rat seemed to leave in a hurry, scurrying away quickly from the rest of the group. LABRATT glared, snout fixing into a snarl."Out of all the rats I could've escaped with, it just had to be my sister.Of course.Just my awesome luck,"The albino grumbled under her breath and she padded right behind her sibling.

Nynx raised a brow at Doublo's sudden hurry to get going. Her odd behavior surely didn't go unnoticeable. He perked his ears as LABRATT had mentioned 'sister'. Of course, that is why he had noticed them bickering so often. The black-and-white rodent knew exactly how siblings could be, never quite getting along as well as some might like to. He kept silent still, following after the others cautiously. Doublo didn't seem like the kind that would lead them into a trap, but he wasn't going to risk it. He was more wary of the two rats than he was of Xarax, the crow had already proven helpfulness. But so many things could still go wrong in such a small space... Nynx didn't want to be one of those caught in it.

(( I honestly have no idea how to continue this. Ideas anyone? ))
Suddenly there was a hand in the cage and suddenly his teeth were in the hand and suddenly there was, red, red, red and there was a mind-shaking shout and the hand was immediately withdrawn, carrying Lewis halfway out with it until he regretfully released his hold. Lewis dropped an landed in a crouch next to Feri, bristling and shaking. He whirled around and faced her, eyes wide and shifting rapidly and he jabbered quickly, "Now tell me Feri has it ever occurred to you that we might be able to use Whitecoats themselves to aid our escape, to run up an arm, or bite a hand, or bite a hand, or bite a hand, or bite a hand..." Lewis repeated, brainlocked on a more severe form of his double phrasing habit that had suddenly arisen as he felt FEAR run through his blood. "I think, I think we would be able to get out that way, if times with utmost precision

{ Hm, I'm not sure }
Feri barely squeaked. She wasn't afraid. She wasn't afraid. No. No. No. Fear does not exist, the thing in the back of her mind hissed, and she tried regaining composure. "I-"She began, then wondered if the other rodent was alright. LABRATT looked back at Xarax and Nynx,eyes fixed in a glare."Are you two coming?"She hissed,tail whipping around as she stopped to growl at them,then scurried along. Doublo was far ahead, running as fast as her stubby legs would allow.She then stopped and sniffed the air, smelling fresh,crisp,real air.Other scents,too.The bi-colored rat scrambled away. Xarax nodded and watched the albino run ahead,then ruffled her feathers."Alright.We better get moving,huh?"She said,tilting her head at the rat and,claws clacking,moved ahead.

(Well, there is always the usual maze idea, but... XD))
Nynx paused as LABRATT had stopped to growl at them. He silently nodded, before quickening his pace into a run after the albino had sped off. The hesitant rodent smiled a bit as he smelt nature overtake the dusty scent of the vents that the group walked along. Perhaps this wasn't a joke, after all? With his hope restored, he continued to run, catching up with the two does.

Doublo scurried faster,faster,faster,the scent of fresh air was all she could think of.She stopped when the scent was at its strongest. { sorry for the short post,I just need to go to bed!}

Nynx continued to follow the two does, noticing that the smell of nature had gotten much stronger. They had to be getting close, he just knew it. The rodent of course didn't show any expression on his face, as always, he wouldn't dare. He didn't know whether to be joyful or worried that he might finally escape. After all, so many years of living here almost seemed like home now, and how could a lab rat live a normal life outside of it? It didn't seem natural. But he would rather choose death over the lab at any given chance.

Doublo skidded to a stop as she looked up and saw that their escape was blocked. Blocked by bars. An angry shout followed by many curses came from the black-and-white rodent, paws trembling and black eyes narrowed. "This was the right way! I know it! How is this-" She angrily squeaked, tail lashing behind her.
LABRATT walked up behind her sibling and her wires sparked. Not out of anger, but out of nervousness. She knew if they went back they would be caught. Yet, there was no other way. Their escape was cut off by thick, heavy bars; just like the bars in their cages. The pale rodent seemed to be caught in deep thought as she stared up at the metal lines where small bits if sunlight filtered through. She then realised how much the light hurt her eyes, more than the artificial light in the labs.

Nynx was sorta lost in a daze when the trio of rats found their exit. He barely even noticed that the two does had stopped only a few inches away. The bi-colored rodent skidded to a hault as well, wondering why they had stopped. Then he looked at the bars. Those same damned things that cursed the confinement. Ofcourse his first reaction was to shoot a glare at Doublo. Perhaps the doe had planned this? Get their hopes up, and then... drain them again. Nynx quickly calmed himself, his eyes shut as he tried to refrain from saying anything impure. It was best for all of them. Then he remembered the crow. That creature was from outside- he was sure of it. So obviously there had been an escape here at some point. He glanced back, eyes following the trail they had taken. There wasn't a turn they had missed, was there? "But this... doesn't appear too promising." He mumbled, yet it was incoherent as he stared again with crimson eyes at the rays of natural light that peeked between the bars of what could have been their escape. He wasn't quite sure what to do. Now that they were out of their confinement, he knew that they would be caught. But if they didn't go back... The vents would be kicking on soon, and... He didn't want to think about freezing to death down here.

Doublo looked like a dog barking at a cat up a tree with her fur bristled and her teeth bared. She knew this was the way out...she swore it was. "Why are these stupid bars here?" She chittered quite loudly. "This was the way out! It was the whitecoats wasn't it? They knew! They knew!"
LABRATT forced herself to look away from the sunlight and back into the darkness behind them. It went far, farther than she could see. The doe was, for once, silent. She had never been even this close to freedom before, even if it was blocked off by bars.
Xarax finally came from the darkness, hopping out. She wasn't quite used to walking yet. "What's all the rucku-" she stopped as she looked up where the vent was.

Nynx lashed his tail, nothing but silence coming from his mouth. He wished he could say something, but what was there to say? He didn't want to rush the group, but he knew that there was a chance of not even getting back to the room if they weren't quick. He turned to the crow with a low tone. "We can not stay here for an extensive amount of time." He mumbled, trying to keep his voice to a tone that the does wouldn't hear. He figured that, if they knew, they would be under much more stress than they were, and that wouldn't be good for getting out of here. Especially considering that LABRATT could easily kill if someone made the wrong move. "I suggest you advance to the entrance of the vent, and ensure that there is nothing blocking it. You are the only one that can reach the destination."
