'what, who, what?? How did Teako do that?!' Emmet thought with surprise. Though the power didn't terrify him it just concerned him now. 'is it a type of disease or virus he has that made his eyes go all red and stuff?' Emmet kept thinking but stopped humming long ago.
~Tod~
"what the what?" Tod muttered astonished with Teako's eye change but noticed it was going back it's old color. 'that was... Pretty cool.' Tod thought in admiration. "hm, eyes like those should get checked .." Tod said lowly almost making it sound like he just thought Teako's eye change was just creepy. 'god dang it, Tod you just know how to make a rude comment don't you?' Tod thought disapproving himself on his words he said aloud.

Lewis had shown little reaction to the rather unexpected change, but questions circulated through his head. First of all, this was a very new change. He had never seen a dove before, so could it have been a natural defense mechanism? If not, was in only triggered while in alarm? Did adrenaline play some role in the color change? And his most intriguing question: What was Teako experimented on...?
Feeling a little happier now that he had a mystery to work out, Lewis began humming as well, taking the notes he had heard and turning them over into a dark, minor key.

.:Emmet:.
Emmet didn't like the theme Lewis was humming as they walked but better than silence to feed off of. 'oh my gosh... I honestly kind of wanna go back to the holding area...' Emmet thought starting to breathe fast and his heart felt like it beating faster than usual. 'oww, I forgot my usual withdrawals happen at this time...' he thought catching onto a headache. Emmet started slowing down and closed his eyes trying to block out the pounding in his head.
~Tod~
Emmet started slowing down Tod noticed and actually put a paw on him, "hey, Emmet you okay?" but Emmet turned to Tod and hissed in his face with anger Tod's never seen. He jumped back a little from Emmet as he turned to keep walking. 'that was.... Strange... Isn't Emmet usually the optimistic one without anger ever showing?' Tod thought resuming to walk and decided to leave Emmet alone.

Lewis's attention snapped back onto Emmet's fast as a hawk's. To be honest, he didn't know what any of them were tested on, excluding Tod. He noticed that his muscles had gone a little more tense and his heart was beating a little quicker than usual. He could be in danger. Yes, he could be. Teako's transformation, now Emmet's sudden and violent aggression. Lewis didn't know who these animals were and what they had been through. He silently cursed himself, in awe of just how stupid he was to /not/ make finding out about their experiments his first priority. Humming a little faster, Lewis forced himself to walk up to and fall into pace with Teako, whom he assumed knew all of the information Lewis was to ask him.
"Hello Teako. Could you kindly enlighten me as to what experiments have been performed on you each?" The rat was looking sideways at the bird's eyes, scanning them for any changes. With this question, he could make Teako feel nervous and defensive, and if his eyes changed now then Lewis would have proven that it was caused by a chemical release, most likely adrenaline. Lewis was hyperaware of the eyes boring into his back, eyes of the creatures whose intentions he knew not.
Dangerous, yes, dangerous, he thought with a tail twitch and a grin.

.:Emmet:.
Emmet stared at Lewis or more like glaring, 'trying to find out why we're like we are?' He thought. 'ugh, okay, be positive.' Emmet told himself sighing deeply trying to lose his aggression.
~Tod~
Lewis went up to Teako and asked his question of what the rat's experiments were, including Teako. Tod just shrugged and kept walking since Lewis already knows what his experiments are.

Teako:
Lewis came up to Teako and asked him what he and his friends had been tested on. "Why would YOU want to know?" he snapped back. He watched Lewis watching him out of the corner of his eye, and he glared at the rat as if to say, "'You're being rude. Stop.'" They were now almost 5/6 of the way there when Teako suddenly heard a voice. "Where are you going." He whipped around and realized he was looking face-to-face with the Red-tailed-hawk that he had battled earlier.
Echo:
*hugging Emmet with terror*

'oh no not this guy again' Emmet thought glaring at the hawk hugging Echo back as if ready to defend her. "What do you want?!" Emmet shouted at the hawk not wanting to deal with more stress in the middle of his withdrawals.
~Tod~
"Ooh! More birds!" Tod grinned at the hawk in excitement catching onto his hostility towards Teako. "Tod! Stop being so happy about everything! There is absolutely nothing to be happy about right now!" Emmet shouted at Tod. He stared at Emmet hugging Echo and shrugged turning back to the hawk losing his grin pretending to be threatening towards him.

Echo:
Echo buried her nose into Emmet's fur, hugging him tightly with terror. She remembered the hawk very clearly.
Teako:
Teako's eyes immediately started to change, and the hawk lost the blaze in it's eyes, now looking stricly terrified. "You will leave me and my friends alone. I am running low on bandage, and I don't want to waste it on wounds from your hideous talons. Go, NOW!" he screeched. As the hawk flew away, Teako's eyes turned back to normal. He didn't expect the hawk to fly to the back of the group and start attacking Tod. He heard the ferret screech, and he whipped around.

Lewis was hyperaware of Teako's hostility and stress, and he slowly stopped walking, feeling a little injured. Rude? He had never been called rude before. Maybe he was being too curious. That's it. Yes. And they wanted to defend themselves against him. Because he was curious. No, no, /they/ were being rude for regarding him in such a cold and unwelcome way. Weren't they all on the same side? Lewis's heart was beating even faster than normal and his fur felt hot. Stop, he told himself. You're being compulsive! Let it go, they're probably tired, and they've probably met plenty of vicious animals and they don't want to meet another. But, he told himself, he had given them no reason to dislike him. Yes, they were the rude ones. Stop, the word reverberated in his mind again.
Feeling frustrated and increasingly agitated, Lewis practically twisted himself in knots turning around to face the hawk that had silently appeared behind him. The rat stiffened, aware that his white fur was a dead give-away, the wrapping paper on a present. He knew nothing about hawks. Nothing at all. An icy, dark mood settled around him like a cloud and Lewis pulled backwards, behind Teako, and flattened himself to the ground. Silently, rolling his paws to avoid triggered the tripwires of dead leaves all around him, Lewis faded into the shadows and went as still as a body. There. If anything, it would be motion that alerted the hawk to him. And besides, the predatory bird would be far too distracted by the group set in front of him. His own pink eyes slid from Echo to Teako then back again. There. Let the unempathetic worms die.

(( ffffff We responded at the same time, oops )) With a flurry of feathers and a sudden, fur-ruffling pillow of air pressure, the hawk disappeared, spiraling into the sky. Lewis let out a slow breath, closing his eyes and relaxing his muscles, feeling a sort of weight lift off of him. You need to stop being so sensitive, he breathed to himself. Just let it go and everything will be ok. You're ok, you're not rude or annoying. They're intolerant. You're ok. The thoughts turned into a monotonous rhythm, lulling him into an emotionless phase. Now he needed to get to the bottom of his own questions about the group. Now, who hadn't he asked yet? Of course, Jenn. Sweet little Jenn. Skirting around the clearing to avoid Teako and Echo, Lewis sidled up next to her and asked her the same question Teako had ignored; "Please, Jenn, do you know what you and the others, you and the others were experimented on? Could you tell me?" He kept his voice low and quiet, as to not trigger detection from the others.

(Teako didn't actually say Lewis was rude, just giving him that "Stop" look c:)
Teako:
Teako watched Lewis sneak away out of the corner of his eye. Something was wrong. He whipped around, saw the hawk attack the ferret, and flutter on top of it's back, holding on with his talons and ripping the feathers out of the hawk's head. The hawk screeched in pain, and flew into the fence, falling and landing limp on the ground, no signs of breathing showing. 'He must of hit the fence pretty hard to have killed himself.' he thought, satisfied. He whipped around to Lewis's hiding place, and felt his eyes starting to change. He stormed over and ripped him out of the bush with his talons around his neck. He held him up so they were face to face, and whispered, "Why didn't you warn us. I could have tried to like you and probably succeded, but now you've gone too far. You almost let the ferret die. Even the weirdest people have to live. That hawk got what he deserved, but you could have warned us. The hawk would have probably attacked the others once he killed Tod. Run, and don't come back. If you do, you will be punished." he threw Lewis into the dust, and screeched, as a signal of 'You better listen'. "Come on guys, lets go." He said, crawling through the fence.
Echo:
Echo finally let go of Emmet, and stared in terror at Teako. He had never been this angry or aggresive before. She hesitantly crawled through the fence after him, takig one last glance at Lewis, in the sand, looking stunned. She waited until the others had walked into the forest behind the fence, then crawled back through the gate. She walked over to Lewis and reached down and pulled him up, making sure she didn't hurt him. "I'm sorry about how a acted earlier and that Teako hates you. I'm so sorry you were kicked out. But trust me, if you come back, Teako will probably hurt you, judging by the way he was acting. I don't want anyone getting hurt.." She said to him. "Try to stay safe." She said as she slid once more through the gate. "Wait up guys!" she yelled, scurrying up to the group.

.:Emmet:.
Lewis was kicked out of their group. 'well, this has been a very unexpected turn of events' Emmet thought walking through the fence passing by Lewis.
~Tod~
Instead of following them he stopped and sat by Lewis, "well, what now, sir Lewis?" Tod glanced at Lewis who just kind of stood there. "I don't feel like following a group of rats and a bossy Dove." he commented just staring up at the sky.

(( Oh. Haha, oops ^^' ))
Lewis landed in the dirt, scraping his paws on the edge of a rock and skidding to a rough halt. The world had turned into a sort of grey blur, his eyes locked hazily on a distant blade of grass. No, no, he wasn't hurt, he decided. Not physically damaged, no.
He was simply stunned, too stunned to react or move. He was aware of Echo talking to him, understood and took note of her apology lightly, and wanted to say something to her, maybe apologize himself. But he couldn't respond, and he didn't reply.
Did... did Teako just /throw/ him? Lewis had been too caught up in the words that were crawling out of the bird's cruel beak to have noticed, or maybe he had momentarily forgotten that he had been thrown as a result. Run away, the bird had said. Don't come back, the bird had said. Run away, don't come back. Run away, don't come back. On and on, echoing in his head, echoing into silence. Silence.
Lewis needed to break that silence. He coughed. There. Silence broken.
He had actually been rejected, he had done nothing yet he had been rejected. Maybe it was because he had done nothing. Because he didn't help them enough? No, but he came to them wanting their help. And they had rejected him.
/He came to them wanting their help and they had rejected him./
A shudder ran down his body, starting from the base of his skull and ending as a twitch of the tip of his tail. Lack of empathy, all of them. Why couldn't all beings show and exercise it? Some of them needed that empathy, that little bit of relatability and needed to share it with someone else. Yes, lack of empathy. That was it. They saw him as a problem, not an individual.
"Self centered bastards," Lewis whispered hoarsly, finding his voice in the words, still gazing at that single blade of grass. But Echo had apologized. She was ok. Jenn had done nothing wrong. Tod, well, Lewis needed Tod. Emmet was cold, he didn't like that at all. And then Teako.
/Run away, don't come back./.
Lewis had felt too injured to move before, not physically, but mentally damaged. But as he thought, he regained his energy and twisted, slamming his paw down on the blade of grass and ripping it out of the ground, tearing the feeble core of life and sending it into nonbeing. He stood up shakily, fur dusty and tainted. "Run away." he whispered to the retreating group, bubbling energy suddenly peaking in his throat and choking him. "Run away and don't come back."

(( fffff we were responding at the same time, sorry )) The lab rat suddenly became aware of Tod next to him, and recalled the ferret's words. Shaking the dust out of his fur and regaining some form of composure, Lewis mulled over his words. Well... What now? Really, what now? "I don't know, Tod. I'm not entirely sure what to do now. But yes, I agree. I agree, I can't partake in that group of worms." he said bitterly. He was glad, very glad that Tof had left them for him. Tod had sense. Tod was intelligent. And now they were companions, two analytical and cunning beings. Lewis smiled slowly, staring after where his group had been seconds before, the smile turning into more of a mischievous grin. Oh, they would pay. "But now we're out. Now we're out of the lab, and now what?

(its fine ;v; )
.:Emmet:.
As he walked he felt a great amount of guilt for just throwing out Lewis like that.
~Tod~
"Tch, en effet." Tod muttered in small French. He never did know how he learned some French or even remembered it due to his short-term memory. "hm, guess it's just me and you against this cruel world. Let's make the most of it!" Tod cheered looking at the bright side of leaving the others for Lewis.
