// I have a warning! I'm killing off one of my OCs which means that this thread, once it gets long enough, will have a horrible death in the end! If you cannot deal well with the side effects of that, which includes feels, possible tears, and the sniffles, do not join this chat! \\
Kimbal crawled through the mousehole, the thing barely big enough to let him through. His little whiskers twitched to feel around in the pitch blackness, and he was happy his coffee-brown-and-black coat was dark enough so that the Uptreaders(whitecoats) didn't see him as he took his chance of escape. Happiness bloomed in his mind as he realised he was going to leave this horrid place forever. No more tests, no more Uptreaders. Only freedom. The things out there had to be much better than the lab. He could no longer take the agony of all those sickening tests. He sniffed the air, inhaling the scent of not only the damp of the mousehole, but another better-but faint-smell. Grass. It had been so long since Kimbal had smelled the outdoors, but he knew it was just that. He scurried faster, not caring how much noise he made.

Albert was having his fur groomed by Fay, when he suddenly heard something running towards them. He nudged Fay so she would notice, and she looked towards the source of the noise, happily smelling the air. "A new person to share the tunnel with? How FUUN!!!" she squealed. Albert rolled his eyes. How idiotic she could be. "Fay you do know that this person could be dangerous, right? Like that guard dog, remember?" he quietly hissed. Fay nodded and started to shuffle nervously. "Fay, calm down. If this unknown person is dangerous to us, then we can either attack under the bad circumstances of darkness, or we could run in the bad circumstances of darkness. I would choose the last one personally." Fay smiled and nodded. He then noticed just how loud he had been talking and hissed, cautiously looked towards where this unknown person was coming from.

Kimbal stopped when he saw the two other rats, eyes wide. He was so close to freedom. But they were blocking his path. He couldn't move or attack them, he was much, much too small for that, and he didn't want to risk getting in a fight and losing his last hope.

Albert and Fay saw the rat, and Fay squealed. "It's so small!! It's like a little baby!!!" She got up to go get a close look of it, but Albert stopped her. "We don't know him," he said quietly to her, "We have to see if he's a threat to us or not." Albert stepped towards the small rat and stood up at his full height and glared down at him. "What do you want?" he hissed. Fay jumped up onto Albert's back and he fell over, and Fay grinned. "Hi there! I'm Fay and this is Albert! Who do you happen to be?" she said, pushing Albert's head down into the ground.

Exmortis limped slowly against the wall before stopping in front of the hole feeling the walls of it "what's this?" he asks himself out loud before slowly entering the hole again sticking close to the wall.

Fur bristling at the new voice, Kimbal jumped and squeaked loudly in fear.
