North Carolina just outlawed same sex marriages. WTF. I think homosexuals are equal to any of us, and shouldn't be treated as horrible as they are.
Your thoughts?

I agree; I think this whole thing is going to get worse before it gets better though. I hate how religion is NOT separate from state like it should be. Sure marriage was a religious concept, but it's not anymore.

Exactly. OTL Why don't people understand? Just because someone likes someone of the same sex doesn't make them monsters.

I agree, they shouldn't be treated the way they are being treated, in my province (Ontario) same sex marriage is legal, which I think it should be in other places too, but the other issue is that, even though it's legal some churches won't allow same sex marriage because they believe marriage can only be between man and woman because it is a symbol of pro-creation and you can't pro-create if your the same gender. for religion, they sort of take the whole "go fourth and multiply" thing, a little too seriously.
however, there is a church in my town, specifically, that has claimed they will allow same sex marriage in their church as long as they find their own person to perform the ceremony, which isn't that unreasonable considering how some of the other churches behave lol and after they announced that there was a lot of drama xD good times...
but yeah, I think same sex marriage should be legal and that homosexuals should be treated the same as anyone else. there is nothing wrong with their preferences, in my opinion.

I can understand not allowing it if you're apart of the church, because that is a belief of the church, and if you're going to believe in the bible, you should really agree with most of it. It's when it become a more grand scale debate is when we have the problem. >.>

Yeah, it really doesn't belong in political laws. It's just stupid.

I've never appreciated these laws-- I'm bisexual, thus meaning there's a possibility that these may affect me later in life. They're just... Stupid, in all honesty.
Love is love no matter what-- Religion should have no effect on who can marry what sex. It's just... Bluh!

I think that states banning same sex marriage is ludicrous. The main reason why they ban them is for religious stand points. For that reason alone the should be allowed because there is suppose to be a separation between religion and state.

I agree, Dust. It shouldn't even be up for a debate. I think too many old are in office; I'm not being mean (or trying too), but they are too stuck in the old ways.

Ah people do blow things out of proportion Or rather religious extremist do. I really don’t see the problem with same sex marriages, two people love each either enough to commit for life? Then they should be allowed to get married. However I am not religious so thinking outside the box I can see their point after it is a religious act , a man and a woman getting married usually means they are part of the Christian or catholic religion O i can see why they don’t like the idea of their meaning of marriage being changed.
Though personally I don’t see the big deal with marriage seems like a waste of money to me , both my parents are still together and they were never married, where as my cousins just got married and it did seem just like a way of getting in debt.

I hate it when straight people say there shouldn't be same sex marriage laws.
Well, good thing you don't have to get one!
Besides, to defend Christianity, there is actually no bible passage that calls gay marriage a sin. This is man's interpretation.
