"Well Tobi," Lewis said slowly, tilting his head in an almost ominous way although he himself intended no harm,, almost completely still except for his tail, his ever twitching tail. "Forgive me if I am wrong, but you apper to be devoid, devoid of restrictions." His breath misted the glass and her face slid out of focus. "How did this come to be, Tobi?"

Ness felt eyes watching her, it made every hair on her pelt stand on end. She had a long ways to go before she was used to being around so many rats. Perking her ears, she slowing raised her head, only enough to show half of her face though, just to make sure that she could see no whitecoats nearby. She had heard the term that they used for the humans here, that was the only thing that she had adapted to aside from the chemical-like stench, that was only just barely tolerable to her. Once she noticed no large structures standing over her cage, she returned her position, shutting her eyes tightly as if that would ease her anxiety.

Tobi's half-blind gaze was still aimed at Ness. "I escaped,"The doe simply said, stub of a tail twitching."I found an exit to my confinement and I took my chances."Tobi turned to look back at Lewis, squinting eyes trying to fight the red haze and let her see.She padded closer to his cage and pressed up against his bars, trying to get a good look at the buck.

Ness perked her ears, tuning into the conversation when she heard the word 'escaped'. She once again raised her head, staring at the other doe. "You escaped?" She spoke only just above a whisper, almost in shock. "Why haven't you... ran away, then?" The black doe forced from her mouth, tailtip twitching anxiously. She would have done anything to be in the other's position outside of the cage, but somehow she knew that it would be dangerous.

"Why indeed." Lewis said, having heard the words spoken from a cage close to his that he had never attempted communicating with. "Tell me, tell me, Tobi, do think perhaps such a feat could possibly be repeated?" he hinted. Lewis's heart was beating rapidly, even more rapidly than usual. If one rat had escaped, he could too. He could find Blank and rescue his superhero from the clutches of humanity and then, then begin his ideals of justice.

"Yes,"The white doe answered Lewis first, then her red gaze tilted at Ness."I need help.I need kinds of...seeing-eye rats,"She said, ears perked forward.

"I can see." Lewis said quickly. His vision was slightly impaired and the light, yes, the light did hurt, but that wasn't important. "Do you need, need me to keep a lookout?" he asked, tripping over his words

Ness only blinked, flattening her ears. It seemed that the albino already had an offer. She gave a slightly worried glance out of her cage and around the others that were trapped in here. The sight looked disgusting to her, yet she hadn't even known what the whitecoats were capeable of, she had barely been handled. She curled up into a ball again, knowing that three rats would most likely be too much. And the two of them had more thirst for freedom than she, herself not really knowing how bad the fleshy creatures could really be.

LABRATT nodded, blinking dark, pupilless eyes and staring back at the buck. She knew he was albino; even through her crimson haze she could see his eyes were brighter than hers; she needed more than one. "Thank you," The pale rat said, then slowly padded over to Ness' cage. "Surely you could possibly help too?" The half blind rat offered, pressing the side of her face on the bars of the cage, trying to get a good look at the other doe.

Ness at first didn't figure that the other was talking to her, and she just continued laying there in the corner of the cage. Until she didn't hear an answer from any other rat, and looked up at the doe. She hesitated for a moment, thinking carefully how she should respond. "Are you sure I wouldn't slow you down?" She asked, glancing between the two. "I mean... I don't know anything about the lab yet." She explained, yet still stood as if she was already on her way.

"You do not need to know the lab," Tobi's tattered ear twitched. "I, for one, still know barely anything even after a year of being here," The doe pressed the other side of her face to the other rodent's cage. "So do you accept my offer?"

Ness blinked. She thought that a rat such as the one she was speaking to would know the lab. Just how big was this place? "Well... Sure!" She smiled with acceptance. The doe stared up at the wire mesh of her cage, with a frown. "But how do we get out of the cage?" She asked, staring down at her paws in embarrassment. Ness felt like she was the only one that didn't know how to get out. Every once and awhile, she would see a rat scurry accross the ground below, in hopes of escaping. Was there some trick she didn't know?

"Do you need any help?" The doe asked, stub tail twitching.

"If you could." Ness replied with a shrug. She didn't really have any other option, she had to go. If a rat had a given chance to leave the lab, wouldn't they?

"Obviously we both have the desire to leave," Lewis said in a low, calm voice, finally speaking up after having faded into the background. "So do you mInd not prolonging this much longer, unbound acquaintance...?"
