Hey guys! Volansla here, guess what awesome person made me a MOD?!
Yep! I cannot express my delight that you guys believed I was worth it, not to mention you do too, Flighty! Thank you so much!
Ahem, let's actually be on topic here.
When you're making your ratty character, please remember these things.
1) NO odd colors. We will only allow colors if there is a scientific reason for it.
Ex: "This rat is (insert unnatural color) because bleaching tests slowly faded their fur to a (herpderp)ish color."
Colors like yellow, smoky blue or purple or green, are sort of appropriate. I'm not too sure about neon pink or cyan with red blood stripes.
Besides, rats are LIMITED with colors.
Mink, agouti, beige, champagne, smoky blue, white, and black.
Remember these.
2) No unnatural powers for your character. This ex/includes telekinesis, for only Blank seems to have that ability at the moment. If you ask Flighty and she says you may gain it too, than fine.
Bad example:
"This rat can shapeshift."
Ahahaha. HECK. To the NO.
"This rat can multiply things/itself."
Are you kidding me.
This rat kills, no missing.
If you're going to do ANY of this, just spare me the time to warn you.
3) NO Warriors.
We've noticed a lack of rats, and more cats. Now, a quick recap of what Warriors is;
Spiritual, forest born cats who gain messages from StarClan.
Rats in a Lab is;
Sci-fi, realistic rats who go under torture, unable to escape.
What is there much in common? Not much, really.
4) Keep the ratty spirit alive.
We seem to have... a lot of cats. Yeah. Just like the last rule, we're having a little trouble with keeping it rat-related. Maybe a few dogs, as they are test subjects, but cats...? We've got enough of those. Not to mention they happen to come from ThunderClan....
5) Rat pattern depiction.
I'd like to address this;
Rats seem to have the same patterns as they're depicted with. They can't have spots, stripes, scars, and blotches ALL at once.
Don't believe me? Have an example. Simply go to Google Images and look up 'Beige hooded rat'.
Heeyyyy, don't they all look alike? That's because they're not like cats; they can't have random patterns. I'd like you guys to be creative with this. Example:
Desiree is a mink rat with a downunder white pattern and an agouti hood.
DJ is a beige hooded rat.
6) DNA mixing.
Lately, people have been using this as an excuse for unrealistic characters and ones who break several rules.
Because today's science proves that modern technology just isn't advanced enough for DNA mixing. It does not take injecting rats with blood of said other animal, it takes samples of their chromosomes and fusing them with a rat into the body of another animal, yet also making sure the body's system is not ravaged by the foreign substance of the other animal. It's not as easy as pie, people.
I have talked with Heartbloodrose on this subject, and I also have something new to say; please report your DNA tests here, so I can be aware of what they're about.
I shall update this every once in a while!
Please feel free to ask any questions.
